(Funding Project: UZH Global Funding Scheme )
Partner University:
Korea University – School of Cybersecurity
Objectives:
This seed funding will lay the foundation for a long-term collaboration between UZH and Korea University by supporting the joint development of a full proposal for an upcoming bilateral call. Beyond this, the collaboration has strong potential for sustained cooperation for the development of a data observatory, which will be an essential technical infrastructure for the UZH Blockchain Center to support large-scale data analysis and further various collaboration with academic and industry. Also, the involvement of industrial partners in both countries ensures relevance, scalability, and future impact. Workshops and planning meetings during the seed phase will formalize governance structures and collaborative frameworks for future joint research, education, and innovation.
Research Area:
The full-scale project aims to strengthen blockchain security and privacy through four key innovations:
- A production-ready Zero-Knowledge Proof of Reserve (PoR) system with fast verification
- AI-powered identification of Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) addresses
- Advanced tracking of mixer transactions
- Real-time detection of illicit blockchain activities
