Abstract
As DeFi continues to thrive on modern blockchains like Ethereum, it brings with it pressing challenges in privacy and transaction security. In this talk, Prof. Torres will explore the privacy risks inherent to Web3 wallets and the emergence of cross-chain sandwich attacks—an advanced form of price manipulation exploiting interoperability gaps between Ethereum and Layer-2 rollups.

Christof Ferreira Torres is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and researcher at INESC-ID. His award-winning research bridges program analysis and blockchain security, with a PhD from the University of Luxembourg and the Technical University of Munich.
